Well, sucessfully managed to get the 2nd big file and 1c is now downloading fine.

Also just managed to get onto the COG site and re enterd my beta key. Lo and behold got the message you mentioned and it is on the subs page now.

Problems I have encountered literally must have been due to the mass amounts of people downloading the files and logging onto COG all at once. Created big probs, but like mentioned it is a stress test.

Looking good now I must admit. So should be on later this afternoon.

Surprised they didn't do a torrent file for such a big download, would have made better sense to do it that way. At least you know that once it is downloaded you have all the right files working.

Can't believe it, I can't even open the client at all. Says that the path where it was installed doesn't exist.

If you log onto the beta forums, there's a thread there with the torrent for the download, though I found the CVG site to be faster.

Registered, downloading client now while I go out.

All 6 files should be finished within the hour from the CVG website

I've been left attempting to connect to the game world for over 7 hours... we need to connect before 11pm to be able to play for the rest of the beta stage. Nice one.

Seems I got a corrupt installer file, looking at the progress bar do we reckon its the last part-file at fault?

Edit: Actually, it could be the first?

lotrosetup-1a.bin is 680,915,968 (680,919,040 on disk) whereas the other .bin files are all identical at 681,575,400 - can someone confirm please?

NDA has lifted.

I'm loving it, but then I can't say it's really challenging. I've noticed since the beta client has come along the world is really laggy. Beta 1 was smooth, but I think that down to their being less people.

Beta 2 is rammed.

I'm a dwarf called Connor. Done the bit at the mine and am currently at the outpost afterwards.

Must admit it does seem a little easy at the min. Steve, I was reading the codemasters forums about lag. Apparently it has something to do with graphics settings, try setting to auto detect best settings in the options.

Another thing I noticed is that it is very much like WoW in the way it looks visually and also the interface. I am tempted however to pay the lifetime sub for it as I do love the Middle Earth setting.
