If you already have a 2500K then i wouldn't bother spending £150+ on the 3570K for such a marginal performance increase! I'll probably give Ivy Bridge a miss unless a 6-core version is ever released (for skt 1155).

Just bought one, simply to move away from AMD and my paltry dual core 3.0ghz
Looks like I've found my C2D E4300 replacement. Now, if only we weren't spending £7K on a holiday this year. By the time I can afford to upgrade this will be eaither much cheaper or superceeded by something even better.
This CPU is going to be the best available for a while it seems. It's a shame AMD have nothing to compete.
Definitely a great chip from intel however definitely not worth upgrading from the previous generation (Sandy Bridge).
I only "upgraded" (i use that term loosely) from an i5 2500 to a 3570K as i was building a PC for my partner and let her have my 2500 so i got the 3570K... I didn't notice any real world performance at all (benchmarks are slightly higher). I did notice the core temps were a bit uneven and a couple of °C warmer with the 3570K though... Just realised how old this thread is too .
EDIT: Haha... This is what i said a few posts earlier (about a year ago):
I was buying a new CPU anyway for my partners rig, so i decided to give her my old i5 2500 and keep the shiny new 3570K for myself . A 6 core Ivy chip was wishful thinking!
