I've just got myself a 22" 1080p monitor. I simply don't have the desk realestate for a 27". Plus, 1080p is perfectly fine for my 40" telly, so why not for a 27" monitor?
£230 for 27" monitor because of the 1080p res, could have been pricey if it has a higher res
Erm, 27" monitors STARTED at a 1920x1200 back in 2007 when Dell released the 2007WFP.
1080p is FINE at this screen size; the advantages is a larger display to enjoy your games on.
It's PPI is 81.59; only 13 PPI less than a 24" 1920x1200 display 94.34 - which is nothing..
Yes, 1440p is fantastic for real estate but the vast majority of users will not be interested in the resolution bump.
Not too mention the fact that 1080p on a 1440p monitor looks ****ing AWFUL unless you have a decen dedicated scaling engine which I doubt any of you have owned.
1440p was introduced by Apple's release of the 27" iMac; had it not been then chances are the vast majority of monitors would have been 1920x1200/1080 as any higher poked holes in the dwindling 30" market.
It's £230, for a well built, good looking IPS monitor.
Nothing to complain about you spoilt brats.
