I never have been a fan of NZXT's case designs, but I think they finally managed to make one that I think looks good from the outside.

Ok, what's it's thermal performance if you remove the:

    1. Panels
    2. Sound deadening foam

This was on my list, but the Phanteks Enthoo Pro seems a better bet with less compromises

The last time I used a DVD drive was 3 or 4 years ago. DVD media is dead, the only reason to keep 5.25 bays is for fan controllers or a water cooling res.

Missing 5.25 is a fail? No, find another case, there is plenty to choose from.

Or installing an operating system? Most mainstream OS's are shipped on DVDs.

There are - which makes it a fail for NZXT if they lose a user because of it.

If you buy windows straight from microsoft then they'll give you a download and a product key, so the easiest option is to install off a flash drive.

Was wondering how this would work in the future! But does this mean I wont be able to buy Windows cheaper off say, Scan?

Maybe, but it assumes that you have access to a computer in the first place to get the download!

Well, I suppose one day Microsoft might start distributing Windows in a flash drive!

Why do you assume this case is aimed at user who want 5.25 bays? Because urm guess what? It isn't. This is clearly an experiment on NZXT's side and we should be welcoming this, even if you don't agree, purely from a product diversity standpoint.

Personally, I only use an Optical drive to watch Blu-Rays now. I installed Windows 8.1 off a USB drive, in just 4 mins

We'll all need the drives less and less. I'm really glad I made the switch.

BTW, this case is an ABSOLUTE DREAM work inside and build in. The ONLY bad thing I've found with it, is the matte finish LOVES fingerprints - just keep some PC screen wipes handy.

    Re: Reviews - NZXT H440

GuidoLS is absolutely right. Not everyone is enjoying superfast broadband-some are lucky if they get any broadband at all. Why clutter up the desk with a external DVD? NZXT's time may come but right now they seem off course to me --- and I have two NZXT cases which I enjoy using -- after I reworked them to get poor build problems sorted!

Out of curiosity, NZXT spec the case as having 5+1 3.5" bays. Any idea where the +1-one is?

    Re: Reviews - NZXT H440

Would be nice to see more alternative colour schemes for both cases and motherboards instead of red and black. Looks like a solid case though.
