Re: Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless SE

No bluetooth on a wireless headset is a serious omission. Will mean a lot of people won't buy them; or will assuming there is and discover it after the fact leading to negative reviews. Bad call imo.

the ability to connect to "virtually any device."
    ...

    The Bad

    No Bluetooth connectivity
See I could live with the lack of bluetooth connectivity if Corsair came out with an Android / iOS application that allowed a wireless connection to a phone, however it's still a serious omission from a headset that costs £180.

I've heard a lot of people complain that Bluetooth can be quite laggy, low quality (especially with compression) and subject to interference, even on some very expensive headphones. This being a gaming headset, the 2.4GHz should be faster, have better audio quality and won't get as much interference... Those wanting phone audio and the like would be more likely to get small, portable bluetooth earbuds anyway, I reckon.

Obviously Corsair are not top drawer audiophile kit, but I've had mostly good experiences with their stuff and the price seems fairly reasonable given the inescapable RGB and Gamer Tax...

Actually for something like the Roku app, which has private listening, the last thing I would use is small earbuds. I'd rather wear something comfortable, if it's possible to multi-purpose something like a headset / headphones then that works out brilliantly. Guess it depends on usage scenario.

Would these work at a (large) LAN party in a very large open space?

Doesn't that just make your phone a remote control for your Roku™ player or Roku™ Stream-Stick?
I thought the private listening was via the TV's USB/Bluetooth or from the Roku™ device?

But as you say, depends on the person/usage.
These days I no longer see many people walking round with great big loppy-lug headphones on, looking like Cyberman hipsters or aircraft pilots. It's not the 90s!

Should do, yeah. Long as you're in range, the frequency of the USB dongle will be unique enough that you don't get interference from other devices.
