ECS Production Tour 2005: How to build a mainboard, ECS style

The final production testing is done by skilled female technicians who have the ability to test two at a time, in tandem. They've got some test hardware that I'm jealous of (fast-removal memory modules, CPU heatsinks that don't need full attachment, PCI and PCI Express logic testers, etc.) and can have a mainboard fully functionally tested in a matter of minutes.

A very entertaining read, I must say. It's quite interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes. I'm assuming graphics cards and RAM are done in much the same way?

As for the article itself, I came across two typos you guys might wanna check (Page 2, Screen printing so you can see what goes where, 'only' used instead of 'onto' and page 3, last sentence on the page, 'where' used twice.)

And as for that motherboard mousepad, I'll be first in line for that competition.

    Fixed the two errors, thanks.

Nice article. I could read pieces like this all day. I'm a first time visitor to hexus.net on a mission to find interesting "tech" reading because I can't sleep.

This article was a nice diversion from the typical, bland "benchmarks and reviews" formula I've come to expect from ehtusiast sites.

Hey, welcome to HEXUS and thanks for the kind words!

Obviously we do a lot of reviewing, but we try to keep things varied however we can. It makes life more interesting for us as well as our readers.

This article is superb, specially on how they manufacture ECS motherboards. I'm glad I have one.
