I'd imagine it'll fit fine. I highly doubt that Asus would designed a cooling solution that would prevent you front using one of the slots.
Im still trying to find somewhere that sells it. ;) ;) Nudge nudge people. :p
To answer a few questions....
1. The card is 6.5 inches long.
2. You can buy this card at tigerdirect.com - do a search for 'HIS PCIx1' in the search box. Browsing to the video card section does not show it :surprised:
3. Yes, this card WILL overclock. I'm using ATITOOL v.25 Beta14 which you can download at techpowerup.com amongst other sites.
Once Hypermemory is activated the bus drops from 500mhz to 250mhz. I'm trying to see if the jumper on the card disables HyperMemory. But regardless, I was able to push the card's Core to 505mhz and the memory to 285mhz - SAFELY. I have indeed pushed it MUCH farther but due to the fact the pure copper heatsink I got for it doesnt fit, I'm waiting ;) The ram heat sinks were a good purchase though. So all in all, what did the overclocking accomplish?
FPS jumped from 70fps to 92fps.
Basically it made my MMORPG nice and smooth. This is a great option for those with only PCI and PCIx1 slots. No PCI card will touch it. Trust me.

And, ive just noticed, that its a US store. No use to me, as im in the UK. :(
The 'UK Customers' link just sends me to Misco.
You can also out it in the spare 16x slot if it doesn't fit.
Hello,
could you tell whether vga card has low profile included? If I'm asking my distributors they tell me this option is not a part of a package.
Thnx.
Steve
Of course I meant a low profile bracket :).
steve
The card I ordered from Tiger Direct DID have a low profile bracket included. I wish it was 2 seperate brackets instead of the the 2-slot one. I ended up using a low profile card bracket I bought seperately to make it fit in my compaq. I also used the included DVI to VGA adapter because the VGA cable on the card isn't long enough to stretch over the the right side of the card into the next bracket for mounting. I think most people will not have this problem though as the compaq's board is odd.
Do yourself a favor and buy a cheap VGA heatsink set (I grabbed one for $15 and it had 8 memory sinks and a copper GPU fan/sink combo) for the card. The card has great overclocking abilities. Even if you don't plan on overclocking, the chips get pretty warm.
Wow I got the card in April 2007 and still have it in a tertiarty desktop. It was an under performer at birth, but I took it out for some reason and the intel onboard 900 something was even much worse. It is in a Dell X310 no X16 slot. I almost got the HIS ATI 1550 which might have been better, and should have gotten the Dell X510 or something initially which has an X16 slot. What I do to myself to save a few buck! Thanks however!
HIS H545H1GD1 Radeon HD 5450 Silence 1GB 64-bit DDR3 PCI Express x1 Low Profile Video Card with Eyefinity
Seems even now people have problems with Dell servers and no X16 and cannot disallow onboard graphics, but most rave about this CARD, which is at NEWegg and Tiger Direct etc, maybe someplace in the UK too!
