Only the QX6700 is being released right now. Current pricing appears to put it at exactly the same level as the X6800 - so you can have quad-core or faster dual-core, depending on preference. The Q6600 and Q6400 will come Q1 next year, and then quad-core pricing will undoubtedly drop a lot.

Game developers have been coding for this for a while and I suspect Q1 07 we will see games which take advantage of this.

It seems more likely that next year will be all about scaling for dual core systems as they're more commonplace - do we think that many gaming engines will have 4 or more concurrent threads that's aren't deadlocking each other (i.e. waiting for another to complete), or eating all bus bandwidth to the degree that quad will show a massive jump over dual? Probably not. Valve's work on the source engine looks promising and I'm asuming this will be first out the gate - i'd love to see some benchmarks of dual versus quad for that. I reckon it'll be very close (once you factor out relative performance increases from chip design/cache/clock speed).
