Good that they changed the EULA. We should easily be able to transfer a version of Vista from one PC to another and MS makes this possible now. I'm glad they listened to the users concerns and acted accordingly.

The "real" prices are on the Windows Vista site @ Microsoft.com. Much cheaper than Amazon quoted. $399 USD for the full retail version of Vista Ultimate. That's ~£209 which isn't that bad at all. Vista Home Premium will be plenty for me though. Vista Home Premium is $239 USD. (£125)

£125 for an OS is still mad. I think XP will be just fine for now.

A direct URL would be useful. Can you oblige?

    TIA

Prices are at the bottom of each of the corresponding pages however, its an SRP, so the price you pay will be down to the retailer

    Thanks VERY much!

Just wondering why Amazon was carrying such stupid prices.

Oh, and if you revisit Amazon USA now, you'll see it's no longer showing prices or taking orders.

Amazon UK, though, is taking orders, and the price for Ultimate is £370!

No price is quoted for the upgrade version, however.

    :-(

Just regards the comment about people having pro installed and not using the pro features. I personally am going to be waiting on the price for Ultimate to come down just so the machines I have can join my domain. It's either that or ditch the domain in favour of Quattro Server based stuff, but MS seem not to have too much info available at the moment.

Yes, my domain is essentially a toy and a learning environment, but I've grown quite attached to it, and work wouldn't be best pleased with me using their domain to train myself on...
