In summertime, the terrace outside The Anchor near London Bridge ?
The pub is so-so, but the river is nice. Ditto the Golden Hind.

At a weekend, most places in the city will be quieter so that's an option.

I don't mind - I'll be heading into Liverpool Street, so anywhere close to that or accessible via the Underground is fine with me

When I made the trip down once a month for work (and before my Mum started her PhD in London) I used to always have a pint or two in the BL on my way back north. Once Mum was in London regularly I started meeting up with her for a coffee, and now I won't be doing the regular trip any more!
