    You mean the Tefal ones?

Not really used anything endorsed by Mr. Oliver, but in general anything that has a celebs name on it costs more...

If you mean the Tefal ones, they're ok. A little bit lightweight and flimsy for me though.

they are the tefal ones that I'm referring to. Anyone recommend a good set of pans? I want some that can also go in an oven and will last.

I was going to ask about Pans. I guess a keen cook has a mixture, I know a "set" will look nice, but I believe you need various types for various functions. I have a set of stainless steel copper sandwich bottom pans that have lasted years and still in good nick. They can go in the oven up to 180C. I also have a Wok (non stick I'm afraid), a large cast iron enamelled le Creusot (wish I had more of them) which is perfect for dishes that start on the hob and finish in the oven, and also a couple of non stick fry pans. Also a large pressure cooker used mainly for steaming puddings and cooking pulses (non kidney beans).

Those Le Creusot pots are great - I have someof their ovenware , which is great for lasagne etc. but I've lusted after a pot for that perfect stove top casserole

best place to get them is in france afaik - grab one whilst on your next booze cruise !

I have a selection of pans , maily that I've aquired - a few cast iron frying pans ( inclugin my omlette pan - perfect for the sunday brunch tortilla )

I have a couple of steamers ( one stove to and one electric ) The only thing I'm really lacking is a big pan - I only notice this when I'm cooking for more then 3 people though so its not a big thing - my wok does nicely and doubles up as the biggest pan I have.

Depends how much you want to spend, but we have some pans by Run Cookware and they are truely fantastic! Not cheap, but well worth the money.
You can choose a variety of handles for each size depending on whether you want to put them in the oven or not. They have fantastic heat distribution, and are non-stick and require very little cleaning! (not detergent - just wipe out with oil and kitchen roll) We cooked a whole chicken in one (like a roast) and it stays so moist, its ace.

    I love mine!!

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.... It was them that started me drinking.

I don't like the tefal pans as most of them aren't ovenproof for extended periods. One of the new ones I've got is rated at 180 deg C for max of 1 hour. In essence I think that means that it's probably not good for your health after that.
My parents have a great set of solid iron cookware, made by a US company, and you just treat it with oil every 6 months, and clean it with oil and a rag after using it. Superb, quite deep sided pans, and they're great for use in the oven too.
I'll dig out the name next time I visit their place.

I have some Vinners ones (sp?) 250 quid for the set reduced to 100 they rock - the Le Cruset stuff is too heavy when you have something in the pan.
