Thanks - yes I had reservations about the MM having looked at it - which was one reason why I didn't get it; the other was the cost benefit, would I use it enough to justify buying it anyway, and the answer was "probably not".

I asked myself the same question. Exactly the same.

My answer was two-fold. If I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it properly. And second, I HOPE I'm going to use it enough. I was planning an £800 lens for my camera, but the more I thought about it, the more I asked about what I'll get from it. From this blender, IF I use it both properly, and sufficiently, I'll hopefully get health benefits, better food quality and taste, and maybe save money.

From the lens, even if I get the maximum benefit possible, it's be ..... wait for it, and don't get too excited ..... better photo image quality. And it costs nearly double what the blender does.

Yet, somehow, I'd justified why I "needed" the lens, when what I meant was "wanted" it.

So I figure that by trying to properly rationalise the benefits of a rather pedestrian, utililitarian kitchen device which, lets face it, is not that high on most blokes' list of presents-to-self, I'm actually being mature, adult, responsible .... and saving £350, and perhaps, by improved diet, even my life.

Better than improved image quality, eh?

Is anybody actually swallowing this, by the way?

Obviously blended very well, look forward to hearing if you find it as useful as Saracen finds his! (Still delighted with my Bamix stick blender, though obviously not quite the same beast as the ones you have!)

I saw the bamix blenders there - but I was after something that will blend ice really well - smoothies for the kids and frozen daquiris for the wife

Has it arrived? How you getting on?

My impression is it's blooming good, but darn well ought to be. I love home-made peanut butter, but it's an expensive way of doing it.
