I don't know if it's been done before, but as an alternative to Irish coffee, or Cafe Royale, you should try Cafe Nihon. Just coffee+shochu - it's quite nice...

I could well be wrong, but I thought umeboshi was a plum paste?

Bet the coffee's a bit... ahem... alcoholic though with sochu, its something like 40% proof, isn't it?

Umeboshi is a pickled plum.

If you want weaker shouchuu you just add water.

Shochu + umeboshi is a classic drink, a bit like an olive or an onion being added to a cocktail
