Value Memory vs More Reputable Brands?

    Hi all,

I'm going to be building a new system very soon, but am putting in an as expensive as possible CPU (i5 2300) and GPU (HD 6870), for a £450 budget, so need to keep the costs down elsewhere. One of the places I am considering doing this is the RAM.

So what would be the difference between lets say, the following two RAM sets:

From what I can see, these have the same timings, but the Kingston is more expensive! I can see that it has heat spreaders however, but how would performance be affected?

The difference is one is 1x4GB and the other is 2x2GB.

Ahhhh, my bad, very stupid error of me!!! How about something like this instead, it is very similar: Hypertec Hyperam?

The name alone wants me to recommend avoiding it but.....I can't see any major reason (esepcially as you're not going to be overclocking) to justify that statement.

Oh, and is DDR3 now really THAT cheap?!

Right okay, I thought they looked extremely similar! And I know, it's a real shock! Last time I looked at building a PC a few months back, I would have had to have paid about £40 for a 4gb set!!!!

That's 1333mhz RAM rather than 1600, but if you're only using an H61 motherboard you'll be running at 1333 anyway.

Wow, I never knew H61 couldn't run any more than 1333MHz! You learn something new every day I guess!
