Hello all,
Just a query I've got around my current PC build. There are details on the CPU-Z profile here
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2201978
As you can see it's currently showing triple channel (3 x 2GB DDR3 Corsair memory approx 6144MB available). However BIOS only shows 2048MB available, same as Windows 7 system info. I've tried swapping the modules in and out of different ports, but can't get any higher than 2GB. I was wondering whether it's a problem with the modules / mobo, but then surely CPU-Z wouldn't detect them if there was a MoBo/DIMM issue?
I've read a few forums about reseating the CPU on the X58 boards (I've a Asus Sabertooth), and checking the cooler isn't on too tightly (I've a Thermaltake Frio). Before I start ripping it all apart and starting again from scratch does anyone have any other ideas before I start a lengthly dismantle, / clean / rebuild process?
Thanks in advance all,
Gaz.
Edit : Just noticed my type of memory according to CPU-Z is CM3X2G1600C9 which I can't find in the QVL list!! Is the problem in the end that I've been a dumbar*e and bought the wrong type of memory?
