    Mixing voltages

I'm building a new PC but I already have a set (2x2GB) of DDR3 memory clocked at 1600Mhz. Is it okay to mix that with another set of 2 sticks of DDR3 memory if they run at 1.65V and 1.5V?

    Re: Mixing voltages

You shouldn't be able to set them at 1.5v and 1.65v individually. AFAIK you need to use one voltage. The timings wil have to be the same too. They will work but you will have to determine which settings to use. Ram is not that dissimilar but worse ram will require higher voltage and higher latencies to run at a certain speed.

What is your CPU? If you post the specs of the ram too I'm sure you;ll get some suggestions.

the other option is to sell your 4gb and get a 8gb set. 8gb is cheap and offers of £20 does not seem that uncommon.

100% agree with DG here. Sell and buy a new set.
