Well the latency is essentially the same, but the 1600 will perform better on sequential transfers.

    Re: 2 different ram sets

    Wonder what standard memory speed-timings equal mine 1333Mhz 7-8-7-17. 1600Mhz CL9 or maybe even 1866Mhz CL9?

Will give it a try and see if the 2 different pair work when my PSU and SSD arrive.

    Re: 2 different ram sets

Thx everyone who have left a post here.
Just tried the 2 different pair of together and it works!
For some strange reason 1 pair is showing 1600MHz and 2nd 1333MHz
I haven't been configuring yet, will find some time to do it over the weekend.
Any insight to why the lower frequency in one of the pair rams?

    Re: 2 different ram sets

Where are you seeing those two RAM speeds? CPU-Z?

Have done anything in the BIOS? or you've let it run under default settings? You may have to set them manually in BIOS to force both sets to show identical speed.

    Re: 2 different ram sets

I'm seeing the figures in the bios. the setting are default. I have tried the to set the rams to run at 1600MHz. However the computer show errors when started up.

    In CPU-Z
    Type DDR3
    Size 16384MB
    Channel Dual
    NB Freq 3806.6MHz

    Timing
    DRAM Freq 534.3MHz
    FSB DRAM 1:4
    CL 9 clocks
    tRCD 8 clocks
    tRP percentage 8 clocks
    tRAS 20 clocks
    RFC 139 clocks
    CR 2T

    Slot 1 XMS 3 Max bandwidth PC3-12800K (800 MHz)
Slot 2 Vengeance Max bandwidth PC3-10700H (667 MHz)
    Slot 3 XMS 3 Max bandwidth PC3-12800K (800 MHz)
Slot 4 Vengeance Max bandwidth PC3-10700H (667 MHz)

    Hope these data helps

    Interesting. Asynchronous memory speeds?

I suggest the same thing as greybeard, go to the BIOS, manually set both kits to 800 Mhz (1600 Mhz) with 9-9-9-24 timings and if it is necessary, raise the voltage of the slower kit to 1.5V/1.6V/1.65V. And then test the stability with Memtest86+. Download Memtest86+ ISO here. Just get a empty USB key, put it on and have it run trough the night. Or you can always use the Windows memory test facility. Access it by typing Memory into the Start>Search.

    Re: 2 different ram sets

Since you are populating all DIMM slots, it's probably ideal to start at a slower DRAM speed (less stress on memory controller), start at 1333MHz with timings that Bonebreaker have suggested, 9-9-9-24. You will most likely have to start at 1.6V DRAM voltage for the same reason you are running them at a slower speed.

btw, are you having some stability issues when running them on default settings?

    Thx for you help.
I've already tried setting it to 1600MHz, but computer start with error.
Window Memort Diagnostics detect no problem
I'm not having any stability problem too.

tried swapping the RAM slot, the same result.
Its the Vengeance pair running at 667MHz (1333MHz)

Tried starting the machine individually for each pair of ram.
Even just using vengeance pair the machine start up with 1333MHz (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9)

Just tried vengeance with BIOS setting memory frequence from auto to 1600MHz and uping volts to both 1.6 and 1.65
all turn out result showing 1333MHz in asus software

Either the software is wrong or there is problem with the RAM

    Re: 2 different ram sets

    Additional notes
In the Asus software it shows
    Memory Info
    Max bandwidth 667MHz

    however the time table shows
    xmp 1600
    800Mhz
    CAS#Lat 9
    RAS#CAS 9
    voltage 1.5v

    Re: 2 different ram sets

New BIOS to improve memory compatibility?

Try run them at 1333 Mhz and lower the latency settings till you find a solution to running them at 1600 Mhz+.

Did you tried to increase the latency (from 9-9-924 to, I don't know, 11-11-11-30 or maybe even 10-10-10-27 before restart and afterwards increasing the frequency to 1600)?
First change the latency, the restart, then increase the frequency. The reason why it does not want to run at 1600 Mhz could be timings so, give it a try and see if it works.

I haven't had this before, but I got two Blue screen of death in 24 hour!
I haven't done anything in the past week!
I think there is memory problem! I'm pretty busy
