    Best RAM - 8GB Value/Performance

I'm looking to get a 2x 4gb RAM kit to use with an AMD FX8350, what frequency and kit should I buy? Value is a big factor for me. What is recommended?

well you want something that is going to run at 1866 or higher .. do you plan to overclock ? you have corsair .. everywere but theres also g-skill (my fav)
geil, patriot you want your mem to run at 1.5v timmings round 10/10/10 30 area .. money wise .. £55-65 and it depends on the board your running it on

Yes, overclocking is something I would like to have the ability to do sometime. And the board I'm looking at is either the Asus M5A97-EVO-R2 or Asrock Extreme 4 970.

    whats your budget?

im using 2x4 corsair XMS 3 , 1600 MHz cas9 - great ram imo; sadly its not as cheap as last year - I paid £26 for it!

you wont really notice a lot of gains *in the real world* with uber fast ram - the only real chips to bene fit are those with iGP`s (AMD APU for example)

just easyer to o/c with the higher freq.. and seeing as the mem controller can do 1866 and in some cases not all 2400 why not ..

these look good for the price http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/...roductId=55439
i don't know hoe well they overclock but they are on offer. Samsung green is also a good choice if you like overclocking but they sell for a bit more.

How does this look, saving a couple of pennies; £40.98 for 2x4gb. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-BLT4...66+ram+crucial

its sdram, isnt that for laptops?

ignore that comment. think someone at crucial is mixing their sticks up, says SDRAM in the table then otherwise lower down.

Crucial RAMs are good, can only suggest them.

1600Mhz 9-9-9-24 at 1.35V/1.5V is what you should look for. Generally. Otherwise let your wallet decide. Any of the above mentioned kits are all right.

    Re: Best RAM - 8GB Value/Performance

I found this while browsing on amazon.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Patriot-2133.../dp/B008LTJJI6

Only problem I think is it takes 1/2 (1 or 2) months to ship.

I know right? I can't wait that long as I'm building a computer in the next week, but to those looking to upgrade I think it's worth the wait. XD
