I have an old Laptop / Desktop, Medion FID2130 that I am starting to make into a desktop machine with custom case, so I can use Windows XP software and play games.
Yes, I could do this via VM but always fun to use old hardware and save it from landfill.
The RAM it has at the moment is two sticks of DDR SODIMM 200 pin 333Mhz PC2700 at 256mb per stick. So a total of 512mb
Thinking of getting a couple of 1GB RAM sticks to rise the overall memory to 2GB
Just wondering if the motherboard will be happy with this? The Laptop is quite an obscure model and information about it is in the wind, if ever there was any.
I understand the limitations of Windows 32bit 3.5GB limit, but I think 2GB will make the machine much more usable.
