ASROCK N68C-S UCC Onboard Sound Problem

I have a ASROCK N68C-S UCC mobo, which im using the onboard sound (VIA high definition audio driver ver:v7700d). I have noticed a strange problem with the sound which is going to be difficult to explain but i shall try my best. Basically the sound seems to auto level itself, where as if a sound effect goes off all of a sudden the back ground music will get quiter and then slowly get back to its normal level, as soon as another sound effect goes off the background music volume will again drop down.

I have looked in the Sound options of the audio driver to see it there was an audio leveling/cancellation option as thats what this sounds like, but couldnt see such an option. Just wondered if anyone ever came across anything like this before?

Re: ASROCK N68C-S UCC Onboard Sound Problem

My HTPC (on an ASUS 785G based mobo) does something similar on occasion, but less predictably. It's possible the board uses the same audio codec; I'll check at some point over Christmas and see if I can find anything out, as it'd be nice to find a way to stop it!
