    mATX WiFi options

I'm thinking of picking up an Asus MAXIMUS VI GENE, unfortunately it doesn't come with wifi out the box, but it does come with a mPCIe Combo II card that allows you to plug in a 802.11ac WiFi card to save using up a precious PCIe slot.

Is this a good and elegant solution, or by the times I've bought a WiFi card and antennas, am I better off just getting a USB dongle that is less hassle if I have to move my machine?

USB dongles are more hassle if you have to move machine. With a PCI/e card you just move the PC with them in situ.

I can't say whether the mPCIe card is elegant or good - I would just specify a motherboard with the right slots in the first place.

Go for the miniPCIe card. Once you have an 802.11ac let's say, will last you long as the MoBo. And no need to think later about the change.

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 for £16.74. Plus comes with free Bluetooth
