    dell motherboards?

while looking for a cpu I got offered a cpu on a dell motherboard, no idea what dell it's from but it's an i3 4170 cpu.
Are they normal boards? The layout looks a bit odd, I think they have swapped the usb and ethernet port with the
    serial port.

Are the card positions and bolts pattern the appropriate atx/mini atx or whatever layout?

Nope. Unless it also comes with the Dell windows serial key then absolutely not worth it IMO. Custom boards, often with locked-down BIOS options, limited expansion ports and hassle to install in other chassis. I would avoid if you have an option of a proper mobo from the usual suspects.

    Thanks
I hadn't thought about the bios or software!
I removed the board from the possbility list.
