    Flashing bios

    Hi

Just got a new motherboard Asus ROG Strix Z390-F with a Intel I7-970K OC at 5.0Ghz. Got it from Scan 3XS Intel Core Overclocked Bundle Z370.

I know there are two profiles saved on the bios, one as Standard and the other one named OC with the OC settings.

My question is if I update my bios to a new one will I loose the saved profiles on the bios?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Flashing bios

On previous generations of Asus ROG motherboards the profiles would get wiped with every Bios update. It is pretty likely that it will do with the Z390-F too, so it would be a good idea to make note of all the settings so you would be able to set them manually after the update.

you can backup the settings and then import them back if theres allot of configuration. A newer BIOS may also contain its own newer OC profile.

    Re: Flashing bios

you're genuinely better off starting again with your specific settings, with a new BIOS, and not trying to use the old ones.

when a BIOS is launched it can alter many things, which a custom BIOS settng from a previous might not work well with, and in a few case you get new options too with a new one
