3700X Ordered - What Mobo and RAM?

    Hi Guys,

I'm a little out of the PC Hardware stuff at the minute due to work, I've just ordered a Ryzen 7 3700x off amazon and I'm looking for a mobo and RAM to go with it, Im upgrading from an I7 3700k so I need new RAM as im currently on DDR3.

I have been looking at a B450 board as the 570x's are a little out of my budget.

I have been looking at the: TUF B450-PLUS GAMING (SOCKET AM4) DDR4 ATX MOTHERBOARD

Any thoughts or help would be great!

    Thanks!

Once you have made up your mind on the motherboard then check its compatibility list and go from there for the ram.

Thank for the reminder though, I just checked my mobo's website and it's Ryzen 3rd gen ready with a bio update.

Personally, I decided to go with the Ballistix Elite 3600 MHz CL16 kit. The price has been fluctuating on Amazon, but there have been some really good deals on its price! Ideally, you want 3600 MHz and CL16 as that's the price/performance sweetspot officially recommended by AMD, but if you buy something specced worse than that you do have the possibility of overclocking it. Ballistix Elite RAM is Micron E-die, which I've heard plays extremely well with Ryzen. I believe the cheaper Ballistix Sport is also Micron E-die, so you might have luck with that if you're trying to save money.

I have gone for the gigabyte x570 Elite (seems best value with a great VRM setup) and 64gb Corsair Vengence 3200mhz (on QVL list) if going for less ram there is many options.

    No, no, no, no.

Sorry but you're making a total mess of this.

Send the CPU to me and I'll sort out the RAM and mobo. You won't need it anymore, just trust me with it. I'll keep it warm.

Can I ask you why did you choose this processor, instead of 5600x? Just thinking about buying 5600x that is in the same price range.
