    Motherboard Recommendations

    Hi,

Which board would people go for out of the ones listed below? Also if anyone here is using one of the boards please provide your feedback. If you know of any alternative boards then please post some links to them I just require the board to have a fair amount of USB ports and not built-in Wifi.

ASUS AMD Ryzen PRIME X570 PRO
ASUS X470 ROG Crosshair VII Hero
    Gigabyte X570 AORUS PRO

    Thanks.

    Re: Motherboard Recommendations

Don't go x470. It's old tech. Either go b550 or x570. Of those three aarous pro however if you can afford it aorus master or msi ace. There is also the msi tomahawk that I haven't looked into personally but seems to be getting good press.

The b550 boards launch next week so sit tight and see what appears!

I think most people recommend now MSi x570 Tomahawk, release date is 17/07

    Re: Motherboard Recommendations

My experience of the Gigabyte X570 Auros Master is very good, so I'd recommend the Pro choice.

    Re: Motherboard Recommendations

Unless you really need the features of X570, I'd suggest a B550 board instead. There are a lot of good B550 boards available (although from the reviews I've seen, the cheaper Asrock boards are probably best avoided).

    Re: Motherboard Recommendations

B550 pros: no chipset fan. Cost slightly (but not much) less than X570. X570 pros: everything else.

I have never noticed my X570 chipset fan running - ok, I improved the thermal paste and gave it some extra lubrication, but still, I wouldn't know it was there.

    Re: Motherboard Recommendations

From those I would choose the Asus X570 1st and Gigabyte X570 2nd
Sticking with those 2 only as they are newer end to the Am4 line
    Completely ignore X470

    Re: Motherboard Recommendations

Would suggest B450M Steel Legend Motherboard Asrock as the best affordable motherboard which would be fit in all application like gaming, content creation and more.

    Re: Motherboard Recommendations

Exactly its a very good motherboard and would also support all new amd ryzen 4000 series which have a better base clock.

    Re: Motherboard Recommendations

B450 if you want a cheap but good board dont care about PCIE 4

B550 if you want PCIE4 for GPU, and want to run more than one NVME drive, you can run upto 3 NVME drives, 1 PCIE4, 2 PCIE3

X570 if you want everything PCIE4, Have more than 2 10Gb USB devices, want to run upto 4 NVME drives all PCIE4
