    Can't get past BIOS / UEFI with passive-cooling

    Got an Asus Z270i Strix gaming and can't seem to work out a way to get past the bios - after POST but before BIOS it's telling me that there's a CPU fan error and waits for me to press F1 to enter setup, and I can't find anything in the BIOS nor internet that can help me get past that. One solution might be to find a fan to hook up to the cpu fan slot but I don't have a spare one at the moment and that's only a solution if it can help me get into windows and I can then find a way to bypass that issue. Anyone have any ideas please? Particularly weird because my old Asus Z170i (non-Strix) has the same UEFI and I didn't have that problem.

    The internet suggests the options are on the Monitor menu, and that you should set the Fan Speed to Ignore, and that you Disable the Q-Fan control.

    I've done all that and it's still not working, but unless someone knows a fancy trick to get past it need to look at other options, thanks.

    Given that its a ROG board, I doubt they considered anyone would run it passively.

    Re: Can't get past BIOS / UEFI with passive-cooling

    CPU Fan Speed - Monitor or N/A --> Ignore

    CPU Q-FAN Control - Enable --> Disable

    if you keep getting it it might be best to take a photo and put it here just so everyone can see the options you have. one thing i wish is that board manufacturers would offer a emulated view of their bios.
