    DareDevil - Ben Affleck

This film was panned more times than enough...and it's taken me until New Years Eve '08 to sit down and watch it.

I loved this film... it was the best Marvel film that I've seen to date, and outclassed X Men and Hulk, and Spiderman too.

Story was a little manipulated, but not badly... and frankly I loved every minute.

Why did it get panned? Did anyone here like it? I've heard nothing but bad from friends who've seen it, but I think it's a fine film.

I thought it was very average. Ironman and the (new) Hulk film are both much better marvel films...

    Re: DareDevil - Ben Affleck

I REALLY like it, quite dark and sinister also. I personally think it is one of the better Marvel films.

But for sheer brilliance when it comes to comic to movie tie ins it has to be Hellboy 1 & 2

not seen either yet, but from original Hulk, I wasn't too excited.

Hell Boy is damn good I agree Ferral, but I prefered DareDevil by quite a long chalk

Haven't seen the Hellboys, but they sound good... Will watch them soon!

Haven't seen the original Hulk film... but the new one is unrelated.

Anyway Ironman is the best marvel film IMO.

    Re: DareDevil - Ben Affleck

I think it depends entirely on the version you watch. The theatrical cut was a bit medicore.. bit boring in places and a bit too perfect in it's outcomes.

The Directors Cut is fantastic though. It's a lot longer with a decent sub plots and it's much darker where it counts. Thoroughly recommend watching it if you doubt Daredevil which, I did

Favourite marvel so far is Iron Man and DC has to be Dark Knight but hopefully it will be watchmen

Hellboy is OK kind of puts me to sleep but it was the good the times I got to the end

The real shame of the Marvel movies is that Marvel themselves didn't start making them a bit sooner. X-Men and Spiderman are.. a bit.. not very good on reflection but the first and second of both were acceptable.

What I'm looking forward too is the avengers movie and the dissapointment that Justice League will be if IMDB's rumoured cast is correct, they should pull in Christian Bale for batman, Superman can change though as the new movie sucked!

    Re: DareDevil - Ben Affleck

Screw that - they should make a trilogy of Civil War films! Iron Man and co vs Captain America and co? Yes please!

Looking forward to Watchmen though - and yes, while not brilliant, Daredevil was unfairly abused!

I too can't understand why it panned so much when it was originally released. I loved the film, so much so I paid to see it twice at the cinema.........mainly because of Jeniffer Garner

    Re: DareDevil - Ben Affleck

I didn't find DareDevil as offensive as some, just not the best.

However, the first Hulk film nearly bored me to tears as I went to the cinema at the last mintue not having heard anything about it. I was rather hoping for a "Hulk Smash" film, instead it was more "Hulk needs a hug and would like to talk about his feelings" Far too arty for my liking, but each to their own. The second one was definitely more like it, but I wasn't blown away.

I thought it was quite good. Some people complained about the changes with his costume - but it worked better I think.
