May I ask, are you a native American speaker?

I'm not saying English speaking American is necessarily any better. Obviously, it's easier to spot errors with your own accent than a foreign one.

An awful lot of attempted English accents are an embarrassingly executed, sinister Received Pronunciation, reserved for villains, which tends to be miles off 'real' RP, which in turn is rarely spoken natively anyway. In fact, a markedly bad attempt I found was during a mission in the English Channel on the new Splinter Cell game, spoken by the guards. Seriously it was so bad I was trying to rush to get the level out of the way, like being forced to listen to really poor music or something!
It's amazing how many American actors assume that all British people talk like either the speaking clock, or cockneys!

Michael Fassbender in X Men - First Class

seriously fluctuates throughout the film, but the last sequence he is pure irish, funny as hell
We're only here for the Banter - The Luvvies - Chewin' The Fat

Violence and Lubrication is the solution to fixing everything, if it still doesn't work, you need more lubrication.

I don't know if he was trying to be American, but the worst kind of accent is one where the actor/ director can't decide and you end up with Paul Bettany's accent in Margin Call.
In contrast to this, Kenneth Branagh did a good job in Dead Again

John Hannah in the biopic film about Rubin 'Hurricane' Carter. I think technically he was trying to portray a Canadian so perhaps this category is extended to North American accents. Anyhow quite possible the worst accent in a movie ever.

Ewan McGregor - many times over. Gerard Butler runs a close second.

Another vote for Gerard Butler in Olympus has Fallen. Awful accent which, ironically, was probably the best thing in that movie.
