Movies with two names (because another nation doesn't understand the real name!)

Thought I'd start a little thrad about twin named films

    For example

Le Mans '66 - a brilliant film and one I can watch over and over. Everyone in Europe knows what Le Mans is, where it is and what a fierce race it has always been... a true test of endurance, especially back in days gone by
    Quite literally... heroes, many dead

But allegedly America needed a new name for this great film

And so "Ford v Ferrari" was born

Same film.... crap name....and yes it has a v in the title...not even a vs

    What a shame

    your turn

    The Assassin starring Bridget Fonda.
Basically a re-hash of Nikita, which they later remade as TV series La Femme Nikita anyway.
Released as Point Of No Return in the US.

    Wings Of The Apache
Released as Firebirds in the US.

    The Jericho Mile.
Released in Germany as Ein Man Kampft Allein (A man struggles alone).

Those are the ones that spring most immediately to mind, but there will be dozens more just in my own DVD collection.

    Next up

    The Madness of King George

Was going to be The Madness of King George III ... (as it was George III the film is about)

But it was considered that Americans would think they had missed Part I and Part II and not go to see this one

And THAT is what I'm on about
