Right, here goes...
During the next few months I'll be helping my local Citizens Advice Bureau set up a VPN (all XP Pro) that'll eventually be connected up to ADSL, hopefully via a standard, non-USB router modem.
One of the old, redundant machines is a P200 that I thought might be OK as a basic network firewall / anti-virus machine, so my questions are:
1) What software would you recommend for the purpose?
2) Would the P200 be up to it?
3) Would it be better / easier (?) to just have (for example) ZoneAlarm and some free AV software on each machine instead?
The network will eventually be about 14 PCs, so setting up the software on all 14 machines would be a non-trivial task; something I'd like to avoid if at all possible.
Bare in mind that the p200 runs Win98 atm, but I'd be quite happy to have a bash installing a Linux based solution if it ain't too tricky (I know my stuff on Windows, but not *nix). Also it would have to be free or very cheap for a non-profit organization; the CAB is a charity. Haven't done much googling yet, so I'd like to hear if you have any recommendations...
Additionally, any more advanced tips / quirks that I should be aware of would be welcomed. I'm still trying to get head round it all, so it fits together properly... :\
