Weird DrayTek Issue

Got a weird one for you

Every so often I get a page can not be displayed thing - when using my Draytek V2800 - as if it fails to pickup DNS.

This could be random for any site - but happens during the day.

I'm using Nildram's DNS servers - as I am on a Pipex connection - but I don't think the attempt is even getting to them.

A simple "F5" gets the page - but its a PITA

No issues with the DNS themselves? How can you tell the request isn't getting to them?

It's too quick for it to fail

It only happens every so often - not every single page

Have you got any applications open in the background at the time ??

I used to have the same issues when using torrents however limiting the maximum number of connections seems to have solved the problem, saying that I was using a poor router at the time

It might be also worthwhile using some other DNS servers to see if this resolves the problem as one of my family are on Nildram and are having similar issues.

It happens on 2 of my network PC's hence the odd problem

try different dns servers like the open dns one's to see it is the dns problems are at the isp end

I'm on Nildram too. Nildram have had loads of DNS issues over the last 7 or 8 months. It might be related to those.
