    how do I "pimp" a web site??

    Ok so if i've got a web site how do i get a search engine (ie google) to pick it up

    - Do i have to pay google or what??

    The most important thing is links TO your website.

    Putting meta information is pretty important too, such as keywords and a good description. All search engines like these a lot, and it will improve your standing no end.

    Wow, if you type "unts rigs" into google you get my home page, and "nsm network status monitor" gets one of my subsites too!

    Yeah, but that requires that the person searching already knows about your site, the bigger challenge is to get it to appear near the top when they type in "computer systems" or something similar
