    Question XBox 360

I've just purchased an Xbox 360, little did i know that it doesn't inlcude wireless connectivity out of the box like my Wii and PS3. Upon looking at the price of the wireless adapter I am somewhat disturbed. £60.00 for USB wireless dongle seems somewhat extortionate.

I have a computer in the same room as the Xbox 360. This computer is linked to the wirless network through a USB dongle. I was wondering whether it would be possible for me to hard wire the console to this PC through ethernet and use the wireless connection through this PC.

If you know this to be possible, could you leave instructions on how to do it! Many Thanks

Yup, you can. Its called ICS (Internet connection sharing).

Not done it over wireless, but the idea should be exactly the same.

One of my friends did the ICS method with his 360. It worked, took a little work though.
As for the wireless dongle, it does cost abit (way too much), but I can vouch for it working.

You should be fine, ive got my 360 connected to my pc by an ethernet cable, and all you have to do is go into network connections go into properties and tick the box that says enable this pc to share its internet connection (or something along those lines!)

Btw my wireless router is many rooms away, and my pc is connected to it by a pci wireless adaptor card, so it should still work if your using a usb dongle.

i have my 360 connected to my pc over ethernet. to get it to use my wireless connection with vista i had to bridge the connections by selecting both connections, right clicking and clicking on 'bridge connections'. works a treat!

    Re: XBox 360

I realise this is an old thread but hey, I found it and it was USEFUL!!!!! Thanks guys. I just thought I'd confirm that bridging is the way to go. I got a 360 + pc + wifi dongle in one room and my router + host PC in another, both running XP Home (SP3). I got into all sorts of messes untuil I read this thread and now I'm just another mean dude on GTA IV on-line. Tip o' the hat to you all.

Any one wants the details, reply here, I'll be glad to help.

    Cheers

    Knipper
