need help internet speed to slow on network

hi can you guys help,
i have 2 computers on a home network computer 1 is connected to the router by the nic card and is running at around 7000 kbps and computer 2 is on a wireless usb adapter but can only manage around 1500 kbps is there a reason for this as computer number 2 used to manage around 3000 kbps before. i have plenty of anti-spyware on computer 2, done scans everything. please help me with is problem.

Wireless interference would be my first guess as to there being a drop in throughput.

i'd go with wireless being the culpret as well.

Have an new networks appeared in your area recently?

What channel if your router set to? the best ones to go for are 1, 6 and 11 and they dont overlap. I find 1 and 11 to be better than 6 as it is often the default so you get lots of other devics flooding that part of the spectrum.

yeah..like most others said I guess wireless adapter is the culprit..Maybe you can try using a different adapter or reduce the gap between the two computers..
