    network probs on resume

    Hi,

I have a cheapy Asrock mobo (Wolfdale 1333-GLAN/M) running WinXP which has trouble with the network on resuming from standby. Problem seems to be intermittent, but more often than not. I found disabling and re-enabling the hardware sorts it out, but that's not good to me, I want to use it as a HTPC.

    Any solutions to this?

    TIA

    John

what's the issue exactly? network icon in systray says everything fine but no connectivity? or error message "no network cable connected"?

The former - everything looks fine but can't even connect to the router by IP address.

hhhmmm .... BIOS update? Driver for LAN chip update? if all else fails: format and install anew.

    Re: network probs on resume

I'll try the LAN driver... I notice they fixed an issue of having the wrong IP address after a resume for an earlier chipset, maybe it's a general fix.
