Wireless Cards that work in Vista 64bit

I am looking for a wireless card that will work reliably in Vista 64bit. Currently I am using a Belkin PreN MIMO router, and this computer is using a Belkin PreN notebook adapter. These have worked great for a couple of years now, much better then my old D-Link G cards. Now for my new computer I can't reuse this card as it is not supported in Vista at all so I need a new card.

I was looking at this netgear card, which should be supported in Vista 64bit. Does anyone know if it works okay? I've seen that some people are having problems with dropped connections, which used to happen a lot with my old D-link G cards. Or should I go for this Belkin card. I know people dislike Belkin but I have had no problems with them up until now.

Also I am looking at G cards as the preN stuff won't connect with the new N1 cards at anything higher then 54Mbps, but would an N1 card be better due to better signal strength? Bear in mind the walls in my very old house are almost a metre thick and totally solid.

Netgear Wireless Cards in my experience have been a bit hit and miss. I won't touch Belkin with a bargepole though. Based on what you have said, and your Belkin experience why not go with the flow and get it?

Re: Wireless Cards that work in Vista 64bit

I have never had any problems with belkin, so i personally would alsways purchase a belkin. I agree the netgear stuff doesnt have the same air of quality and i have had my share of faulty equipement. I tried vista 64 and on my comp, it worked straight out of the box. I got it from staples or PC World, (cant remember which) for about £15 and it was a Belking g+ PCI card (not G). Like i said, it worked straight out of the box so it seems to be a good buy.

I think i'll go with the cheaper Belkin this time then and see how it goes. Just for reference who are the decent wireless manufacturers?
