    Be Thomson TG585v7 UPnP?

I've got one of the standard Be boxes (Thomson TG585v7) which claims to support UPnP, ticked the box on the router config pages and everything. Problem is msn doesn't believe it (with live messenger the diagnostic says the router isn't UPnP) and is refusing to video/voice call - I can't even share a whiteboard with the gf which is a shame. She's had it working before (with her ex, of course) so I assume it's at my end. I added MSN to the Game & Application Sharing section but this made no difference.

Aside from changing routers is there anything people can suggest? Is there a diagnostic tool which I can use to detect UPnP options/firewall settings in case the router is/isn't doing something it shouldn't/should be doing?

If it is the router would Be swap for a different one do we think? It's got the Software Release: 7.4.20.3 which seems to be the latest. Is there something I'm missing with the templates maybe, they seem ruddy complicated for home broadband...

    Re: Be Thomson TG585v7 UPnP?

If you are on XP, do you have the UPnP service turned on

if not you will need to add it.

Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components > Network Services > UPnP User Interface

    As for vista, no idea.

Ah thanks for that. Never needed it before but we'll see if it makes a difference. gf is here for the weekend but we'll find out soon whether it does the trick. Thanks.
