Question help with broadband and cableing.

Hi, I've currently got 2 phone lines, one for my internet and 1 for my phone. I'm trying to get broadband and i want to get rid of my internet line and put a microfilter in my phone line. However, my computer is about 8 metres away from the phone line and i can't move it next to the phone. My question is, can i use the existing 10 metre cableing from my old 56k internet line to put into the microfilter and run into my internet socket right next to my computer and support broadband(becuase it goes through a room)or would i need to buy cable which could support broadband. Any help would be appreciated, John.

Run an normal phone extension up to your room.
Connect your ADSL modem to that.
You'll need a micro filter attached to each phone.
