    network setup advice

Hi all, could I ask you for some help on how to do what I want to do with my network?

First, here is how I am setting it up now (pic):

I have 2 servers. Server A is a game server. B is a file server.

I want them both to use Modem#1. And I want all PCs to use Modem#2.

I was using a router to connect both server A & B through Modem#1. However, I have a block of static IPs given by ISP#1, which I want to give to Server A.

I could not specify multiple IPs with the router, so I took it off, and hooked Server A directly to Modem#1. The result is, I can't figure out how to get Server B to also use Modem#1.

Both servers have 2 ethernet jacks. Maybe I can use that somehow, have one go through the other, for its connection?

    Re: network setup advice

anyone? what if i disable the DHCP on the router, and turn Server B into a DHCP server?

Then can I assign everyone on the network an IP address, and tell them which gateway to use?

-- For instance, i would tell all the PCs to use the router 192.168.0.2 as their gateway, and I would tell Server A & B to use the gateway given by ISP#1.

    Is that possible?

If I'm understanding what you've suggest correctly, I don't think that would work as Server B would not have an IP address on the same subnet as it's default gateway (ISP #1)
The way you would ordinarily do this is to have something with a bit more intelligence behind your ISP#1 connection that would have dual network connetions, one that it would NAT out of for Server B and the other interface for Server A which would operate in 'pass-through' mode. I've not used it myself so I don't know whether something like Smoothwall could do this for you.
Other than that it would have to be something like setting up Server A as a DHCP server and router for Server B (similar to what you've suggested already) the details of which would depend upon what OS you're running on Server A.

I glanced at the link briefly.

You need something to link those two connections for routing purposes, then setup static routing for the gameserver to use one gateway, while everything else uses the other. pfSense is built to do this.
