A lot of ISP's download 'limits' dont seem to be that strictly enforced. We've got weedy a 10gig limit on BT broadband, which probably gets exceeded significantly every month but never had anything from BT about it.

Your only really going to go over 50gb usage if you download alot of large files like films and tv shows.
Can easily download 5GB a day of legel stuff everyday for a month, HD trailers, HD reviews, game demos etc.
Use mine for gaming, a fair bit of downloading, youtube streaming and the like - used 2.1GB in the past week. 50GB is a lot of transfer.
50gb a month is by far enough for pretty much any average user
i doubt he'll even push past 2gb per month from your description... and for £15 p/m... i'd say thats a fair deal!
To echo the above, it is hard to believe 95% of users will ever come close to that usage right now. There might be a time when watching TV or downloading movies is the norm but I don't think that is the case right now.
At the risk of upsetting some I also believe that very few legitimate users could sustain that level of downloading. I consider myself a heavy consumer of legite stuff and tend not to go higher than 10-15gb or so. That will include maybe one or two game demos, internet radio, and a few iPlayer telly progs over the week.
Of course if your uncle is a hermit who sits infront of the PC all day then he may need a higher limit! He might also want to get out the house more - take him for a pint ! I guess there really are some people who have the time to watch a couple of movies a day, check out every game demo, etc but I think they must know that they are a "specialist" portion of society. To be polite !
I'm on O2 and I get through about 3-4Gb per month (at a glance from the mcaffee stats thingy), thats from downloading the odd demo, linux distribution, game mod or patch. I use skype... a lot! and I play games over the net frequently (particularly Diablo 2 just lately).
The most I have ever managed in one month was 8Gb, and that was when the witcher enhanced edition patch came out.
So I think 50Gb is more than enough for most people... excessive bit torrent use or hosting (gaming or web) are probably the only things that are likely to push usage.
