Free BT Phone Line Installation - Until 30th Sept

Just came across this new offer for free bt phone line installation as long as you sign up to a £11.25 a month line rental contract for 18 months:
    http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/46362...ed-for-free-un

I am with virgin and getting fed up of the capping during peak times, so am seriously considering switching to O2 broadband which works out cheaper after quidco cashback. There is just one thing I wanted to check before I went ahead with it.

I live 1.2 miles away from my exchange, approximately what speed do you think I will get of the max 20meg speed?
If anybody lives approx the same distance from their exchange I would be very interested to know what speed they get.

Also, I have a bt line coming to my house cut just above my front door but it is ancient, and when I stipped it back it used the wire colour coding from a very VERY long time ago, hardly any info on the internet at all about what the colour coding is because it is so old. Would this old cabling limit my speed at all? I could always ask if they would replace the wire coming from the telephone pole to my house with a new one for me but im 99% sure they would refuse as they would want to save as much money as possible

    Thanks,
    Sital

EDIT: My next door neighbour is on BT broadband (not a LLU service) and the line stats of the router show 7616/448. Not sure if that helps estimate a speed I would get with O2...

The only catch is, you have to sign to an 18 month contract, rather than the usual 12, and you'll need to make at least ten calls per month
lol so what happens if you dont make 10 calls one month? you then get hit with the installation cost, crafty.

If you dont make the 10 calls you get charged ~£6 extra that month, it says it in the smallprint of the offer.
The calls can be from within your free weekend calls though so on a weekend every month just phone another landline 10 times for a few seconds and thats your 10 calls done.
But on another forum I read somebody had signed up to this offer last time they did it and never makes 10 calls from his phone, and has never been charged the ~£6...
