    White Network cable

Im moving into a new place soon and want to wire it up with RJ-45 network cable (cat5e).

Im going to cut it to length so want to buy a real (roll) of the cable.

Unfortunately, while I can find plenty of grey cat5e roll I can not find any white.

Does anyone know where i can get hold of a reel of white cat5e cable?

£70 for a 305m reel in any colour of the rainbow, including white.

While on the topic, I would suggest you get Cat6 just to keep your options open in the future.

I'd imagine that colour doesn't matter as its goes into trunking anyway?

    Re: White Network cable

Looking for around 100 meters tbh.
£70 for a 305 meters is far too expensive.

Really do need white as we are only letting and dont have permissions to drill holes etc.

Finding it very hard to find a reel of white cable 5e

    Re: White Network cable

How much do you need and in what lengths?
Amazon, among others, list a 50m white patch cable that you could chop up, cheaper than £70 but not great value.
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0014BQVSO

Cat6 is a much stiffer cable which needs quite shallow bends to remain in spec, it is more awkward to route especially if just being run around skirting boards. Cat5 can carry gigabit easily and it will be a few years before 10Gb is cheap enough for consumers, and a few more before it's that useful.

Not really sure if that is what you are after, but seems reasonable.

    Re: White Network cable

I've just finished selling miles of white cable on ebay, was £23 for 100m delivered. I've only got a 38m run left
If it is only going to be temp then you'd be best buying white patch cables that are the closest size to your needs and coil up the extra. Plenty of white cat 5 patch on ebay of various lengths
