    Annex M users

Any Annex M users here? (ADSL2+ upto 2.5Mbps upload)

Due to circumstance I have it, but my Netgear DG834GT can only manage 1.6Mbps on normal profile and 1.8Mbps on speed profile.
However I noticed that the GT doesn't specifically support Annex M, and after reading this thread http://forums.hexus.net/networking-b...-required.html that Draytek does officially support Annex M, so it got me wondering if I'd be able to get a better upload.
I don't particularly want to buy that router though, I need wireless for the house plus its quite pricey.

One thing I checked, I get the same speeds as the supplied Bebox (Thompson 780WL) and that too appears to not officially support Annex M.
Yes I did consult Be support forums, best I got is that Annex M is enabled properly on my connection and that its an "upto" service, I was expecting more though since my down sync on Annex A is 21-22Mbps (I'm quite close to the exchange)

    Thanks for any help

Curious. First, what profile are you set to, reliable, standard, or GIVE ME ALL YOU GOT!!! *hemhem*... performance? Second, where in the house is said modem plugged in?

    Re: Annex M users

    Speed profile - ~1.8Mbps
    normal profile - ~1.5-1.6Mbps
Both with fastpath enabled too which did boost my previous normal package upto 1.4Mbps (standard is 1.3Mbps)

I've had to eliminate wire issues before hand, so currently the router is plugged into the master socket with an ADSL filtered face plate, all phones are filtered, tried disconnecting them all, tried the test socket, changed the ADSL cable and the bell wire is removed.

    Re: Annex M users

out of interest, what are your line stats like? as said it is an upto service and it sounds like 1.8 up seems reasonale considering your getting 22 down

I get 16 sync down and 2 sync up, but various speed tests show an actual throughput of 12 down and 1.5 up

I also used the 834GT with a modified firmware and had no issues with Annex M before I got the Draytek.

    Re: Annex M users

Eh? Both the DG834GT and 780WL support Annex M, if they didn't you wouldn't be getting anything extra upload speed and you won't get quicker than these.

    Re: Annex M users

Major bump, I'm using a Draytek 2710n from work, upload is the same as my DG834GT, I guess my wiring is at fault here

    compared to madman045
my Loop Att is 24 yet syncing lower on both counts @ 1629000 14758000 up/down respectively

anyway, my question is this, for portforwarding, some routers allow you to choose "both" for TCP and UDP, but this router only allows one or the other in the same entry, this means you need to enter the entry twice, one for TCP and another for UDP...

Just using the standard firmware, do newer firmwares allow the "both" setting?
