    Wireless 'Travel' router

Now this is going to sound a bit weird (and maybe sad) but heres the story behind it....

Now when i work and go on holiday, quite often i will find a free interent access point in a hotel room (US mainly this happens at work) but it's a wired ethernet connection.
Now this would be fine but i often don't take my netbook with me as sometimes it's just extra hassle so i normally only have my phone which needs a wireless connection.
Now i use emails alot for communicating and not being able to access them abroad easily or without paying a bomb is a real pain so ideal i could do with just a small 'travel' router which i can just plug in and save me the cost of using data abroad or the hassle of finding a wireless network.

Now i can see a numerous amount of problems with this such as all the connections are different and i won't know all the details.
Eg. i was on holiday in cyprus last month and that had a wired connection but i don't know if i router was needed or a switch would have been fine.
And its the same with hotels and i suppose one for which i have to pay for would be completly different to one which i didn't.

Any help would be really great thanks guys.

Sounds like an Apple Airport Express would suit your needs

You can get the config tools for Windows AFAIK. Prices start from £79 it seems

Also, this will work in the states etc and other power adaptors can be purchased from eBay etc.

    Something like those.

But will i need to know anything about setting it up in different places. Is there a certain trick or is it just trial and error on getting the right setting
