    mobile broadband

    Hello,
I have been looking at mobile broadband but all seem to have the same problem. the problem is that for example i pay £15 and get 3gb usage but it has to be used within a month or its gone.

Is there any mobile broadband pay as you go that I can topup and then use it whenever i want?

Seems a ripoff to pay for data usage and then have a time limit on it.

On my T-Mobile N95 I can use the internet all day (unlimited) for £1.

Just connect via a usb cable and use the Nokia N series software.

    Re: mobile broadband

Its nhot bad. Ok for casul net browsing and emails.

Connects by HSDPA (3.6Mbps allegedly) so its about as fast as a normal dongle, but is cheaper for me as I dont use it everyday.

    Re: mobile broadband

Do 3 still do the daily/weekly options on their 'normal' SIMS?

I've got a 3G dongle & you get so many MB free when topping up (to use within 90 days) you can then buy daily/weekly/monthly bundles but I've not used it in a while.

Make sure you don't use the SIM that comes with the dongle or you're limited to their normal mobile data tariffs, use a SIM designed for a handset instead.

You'll need to check whether this still works before stunping up for one though.

Does the iphone sim free data still work? A friend used a payg iphone sim in a dongle with his laptop, hes not here today so cant check if it still works. The deal was that you chuck some money on the sim, use it in a phone every once in a while and you get free data for a year

    Yes, but....

If they find you're using it in anything other than an iPhone (VERY easily done by the network, just think how easily they send you new settings if you put a SIM in a different handset to your normal one) then they cut off the data (maybe even the SIM?)

You might get 6/12months out of it, you might get 3 days

    Re: mobile broadband

    Hello,

I went in to the carphonewarehouse and the new vodaphone dongles now have sim cards that expire topup after 30days just like the others. the only way to get unlimited expiry is to get an old vodaphone sim card from when they was unlimited and then get a dongle.

just need to work out search terms for ebay now.

    is there any alternative?
I really dont know how companies can get away with the usage expiring after such a short period of time.
can you imagine companies emptying your tank if you dont use the fuel within 30days?
