need a new router, around 30 quid, help!

rightt so ive been having problems recently, i think someone is stealing my internet

basically, my router atm doesnt have a password, and i live right next to a "lidls" carpark where theres a big group of skaters that hang out there, and i believe either them or some of my neighbors are highjacking my internet lol

tried putting passwords on my router atm but no luck, + its ancient.

so gonna buy a new one

not really sure what to look for, basically i play lotsa games on my pc and my pc is connected by a wire into the router, and my family have laptops that they use to connect to the router, if you understood that, ill give you a medal xD

but basically needs to have a couple of slots for wired connections, and send out signals for my family to connect to the internet, WITH a password.

thanks for the help in advance

For £30 you might be better off disabling wireless on your router and getting an access point. You can get a G rated one for £22.55.

I use the N version which costs £35.23 with my Sky router which had inadequate wireless performance.

for £30ish I bought a Dlink ADSL wireless router from yoyotech
it works, most of the time, but the wireless can be tempremental at times.

barry2811's advice might be worthwhile, spend the money on an AP, infact, see if you can't find something that will run the Tomato firmware and let your inner geek out!

Kier, whats the model of the router? Is it made by netgear or something?
Also you wouldnt be using an ADSL router as your with virgin (still?), im sure i could help you apply encryption on your router, its normally pretty easy .
