Cisco 10 Gigabit Network bottlenecks

As a company recovering hundreds of Terrabytes of data every week we are implementing a 10 gigabit lan, does anyone else here have experience of cisco / hp procurve virtual lan configurations with port throttling / packet shaping ?

I want to get the best out of the fibre connections so that we can increase the amount of data throughput per hour during peak times but have noticed some limitations on the Dell 10Gb modules .

Anyone else noticed this?
