    broadband options

    Hey,
My parents are finaly thinking about switching from BT. they want both broadband and phone from a new provider.
BT have been extra crap recently such as one day last week and one day the week before for most of the day the internet was so slow couldnt even load google at times.
now while we are with sky we can only get the so called outside access package which doesnt seem a very good deal.
what would you consider the best option for a decent ISP and phone provider in Tavistock area?
according to samknows the only LLU available here is Orange and Tiscali.
I have done some research and the options seem quite limited so not sure who to go with.
I have rung up BE and they have no idea when the exchange will be upgraded.

    Re: broadband options

Have a quick look at the options available on the exchange at http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php.

Once you see what is available you will be able to make a more informed decision.

    Re: broadband options

I have been with Plusnet for the past year. They were the cheapest broadband and call provider and I've never had any connection issues. They do appear to employ bandwidth throttling particulary during the day so mass downloads are out but they also offer free, unlimited downloads at much higher speeds after midnight.

I just switched the parents to Plusnet too recently, so far so good.

The only downside is that I'm now paying for it.
