    Slow broadband

    Hi

I have adsl2+ with Be and live approximetly 1.8km from my exchange as the crow flies, the only thing which concerns me is the speed.

Should I be lobbying Be/BT to do something about the line attenuation?

It is plugged in at the master and filtered correctly with the ring wires detached.

Any advice/info/are you in the same boat would be interesting.

    Thanks

    Details follow:

    Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 1,174 / 5,315

    Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [kB/kB]: 0.00 / 0.00

    Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.0 / 19.0

    Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 29.0 / 52.5

    SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 6.0 / 6.0

    Re: Slow broadband

could be normal depending on the underground route

1.8km straight line, with that attenuation is estimated around 3.8km underground route

If you compare that to mine, ~340m straight line, my attenuation estimates 1.4km underground.

Ask Be to transfer your line to normal ADSL instead of ADSL2+, you should see a slight boost, but otherwise as I said given the actual distance and unknown factor of underground cable route, your attenuation could be normal.
