Broadband …. Who and What Speed?

Broadband …. Who and What Speed?

Hi, looking at getting Broadband, but not really sure where to start as in who to go with and what speed..

Who do you guys find offer the best service and price? And what sort of speed do I need for basic web use and the odd online game?

I would go NTL if they were in my area but if not then Eclipse and Nildram seem to have the best services.
    Freedom2surf has £22.50 a month but I don't know if they're any good
Eclipse is £24 a month and has static IP and webspace
I have Eclipse and they were very fast to setup and no problems(aside from the ones caused by switching from BT)
ADSLGuide.org is a good place to start.
    Good luck

If you're only using it occasionally then the £19.99 offer from BT is quite good.
It has a 1Gig monthly download limit which probably leaves you unable to do online gaming though

it's 512 but with 1gig per month you need to be an extremely light user.
Also BT will never let you go as you try to work your way round the dungeons of the sales department.
AOL is good if you are an existing dialup customer cos you can then upgrade with a very good deal however you do have to put up with having their bloody software on your computer.

Presumably it covers everything as i wouldn't have thought the ISP would go to the bother of discriminating. Could be a bit of an arse if your account was blocked for the rest of the month after 3 days of use lol
